Is Financial Abundance a Real Thing?

From a spiritual perspective, financial abundance is an oxymoron. In the game of finances, someone always loses, kind of like in the game of musical chairs.

Even if you do accumulate an abundance of money, you still have to deal with the threat of scarcity and competition that is built into the financial system. What’s more, many wealthy people have reported feelings of despair and isolation, even though they have a lot of money.

The mistake we make is using money to access the qualities of the heart. In other words, we try to buy our way to freedom, happiness, love, appreciation, and a sense of belonging.

Those qualities are part of the endless and forever available with or without money. Using money to access the “endless” puts us on the never-ending pursuit of accumulating money. It’s a pursuit that will never quench what our hearts are truly thirsty for.

Consider letting go of the financial abundance goal. Instead, separate the two. Define what’s enough and go for that. Do what you can to minimize money’s role in your life.

Seek your abundance in the endless. Fill your life with the qualities that cannot be taken away. Use money as a tool to support abundance, not as the endgame in itself.
