Those with real power have a deep connection with Life.

Our patriarchal society reveres and rewards those who can successfully apply force and insert their will. We are obsessed with quantifying life, growth, success, money, and production at all costs. If it cannot be measured, then it doesn’t matter or even exist. It’s this paradigm of “patriarchal power” that is oppressive and destructive.

Real power in life, however, is in connecting with that which cannot be measured. It’s integrating the qualitative side of life, trusting in the space between the lines, and growing our relationship with life.

Accessing this power comes from grounding ourselves in beauty and love, in the reverence of nature, and directing our creative powers toward service—that is, being in service to each other and to this earth.

Could this “real power” be the role and power of the matriarch? Could it be that the feminine powers are meant to tether force and ground us in love and beauty before action or intervention? To show us how to have a relationship with life, rather than trying to dominate it?

Under this new paradigm of power, weakness is seen as being disconnected from life, and ignorance is applying force before union.
